The Town Council is an elected body responsible for local government within Llandeilo town. Split into two wards, Tywi and Castle, it represents the interests of the town in the provision of local services and liaison with other bodies involved in local government – Carmarthenshire County Council, the Welsh Government and the U.K. Government. Established in 1894 as Dinefwr Borough it became Llandeilo Town Council as we know it now in 1974.
